Both insects are very nice.
I like the longer framework of the butterfly. It catches your eye and makes him stand out quite well.
The grasshoppers camo couldn't match any better.

Thank you, havalotta. I like the longer dimensions of the photo, too..and the placement of the butterfly, too. I'm surprised that I could compose it that quickly--it was the first picture I took and I was afraid the little guy would fly away before I snapped it. It was better than the other shots I had more time to compose (when it didn't fly off, I kept getting closer to it).

I enjoy seeing the best of the best in these monthly contests. They provide us with a pleasurable and interesting view of things we would not normally see. That's what led me to asking..... if anyone would like to see a bright Seed head, mass of Florals, glass like reflection, cool artsy grass shot, herbivore close up or something almost prehistoric?

I thought that *was* what we were seeing!?

Although, I'm a little fuzzy on the "almost prehistoric" one...is that Bulu's ever-so-cool camo-grasshopper?

...Oh, and I've yet to pull out what I see in the reflections and post them. Give me some time.

Excellent photo, havalotta!

Hope you ducked after taking it!

...I've got to get back to mowing. Later. (Enjoy your trip...assuming that is what your wild blue yonder comment meant.)

Nooooo I think you missed it entirely. I wasn't comparing what had already been entered.
I was thinking it would be fun to ask you or someone else to chose one of the following from the list for me to enter but since no one wanted to play with me I choose Ptuieeee as my final entry.
I'll get back to the reflections thread as well upon my return.

Sorry, I did miss it.

Good choice anyway.
