I'm done crabbing, I'm leaving too! For the warm luxurious 70+ weather! There is just nothing here to photograph for another four months. Stay warm, gardeners!

Not particularly artsy, but I always love it when there's a grand gathering of geese (I kinda dig alliteration, too)

And one from last December that I know I've posted here before. I wasn't sure if I had used it in last Decembers photo contest, though, so I went back and scrolled through and saw that, not only didn't I enter the contest, I hadn't even commented. This seemed odd to me until I realized that I didn't even join until february! It sure feels like longer than a year that I've been on here (even with my summer hiatus).

I too love gatherings of geese! Your cardinal photo is quite beautiful. They really are nature's Christmas ornaments!

All nice pictures, Buluc. geeeseees 011 could easily be a painting. Or a nice challenging jigsaw puzzle!

Thanks benji1, that's the one that stood out to me. I included the other to really demonstrate the size of the gathering.
And thanks Hava, bridget and Sage. As nice as the picture is, the moment was as well. A gray, snowy day in the field with the camera, not really finding anything to point it at, and not really minding. Then movement catches my eye, and color!
He was originally at the top of a small tree but before I could catch him there, he bolted for the safety of a thicket. I snapped a few pics before he was gone...and realized my heart was beating faster! There was definitely something special about that flash of red in the midst of a snowy northern day. A year later and I'm still recalling it with pleasure. Thanks for appreciating it.

havalotta-
Your hermit crab photo is just charming!!!
I adore the funny looking "pop out" eyes on the little fellar!

Bulucanagria-
Your cardinal in the snowstorm photo is simply stunning. Makes me go brrrrrr just looking at it.
