I had a hard time picking out photos for September. It is one of my favorite months to venture out west. Here are 5 of my non-wildflower favorites from Septembers past.

WOW What a nice spread Kchd!
Yup...Every fall they move across the yard much the same as a group of people in search of a lost child in the woods. It's like they're grooming the place. Actually what I THINK they are doing is....Going through in search of the new-last hatch of the year, as in bay-flies.

The bear's my favorite. He looks so happy and care free just sitting there on his rump!!!

Oh, I love the bear too...but the elk just spoke to me. Having just seen a bear here made me appreciate it even more.

Thanks, all.
Yup, the bear was very relaxed. He was having a grand time fishing for salmon. So were we, til he showed up, and we said "you win, big bear" in regards to who's fishing hole it really was... I love listening to the elk bugle in September. One of those special sounds that go with camping in the fall.

Great that you got a picture from the experience. Your wildlife photos are of much larger and varied species than mine. Mine are usually avian, insect, or common mammals...although I did get a bear shot or two--none as beautiful as yours.

The elk is amazing. I really like Hava's leaves, too. Lots of very cool entries this month.
