Not really sure, I noticed it while in travel and did a turnaround to get a better look at it.
I've had the notion of adding a white, flaking, curly barked, birch nearly all summer.

I'd like to plant one in remembrance of my father here but try as I might to find a young one growing in the woods beneath a mature tree........
I'm just not locating any which seems really ODD! I KNOW they are not white when young so I removed a small sprig from a mature tree to compare the leaves to the young forest growth beneath them. Not a one....The leaves of the youngins I'm finding seem a lot more elongated, or the bark isn't spotty enough or the next year buds look different....The tiny saplings with the more rounded leaves (Like they should be) seem the same but when I do a lick test...one, by one, by one, not a one panned out to be a birch.

How about a pair of curious birds in a tree?
![]() and some beautyberries.... ![]() (I withdraw my buckeye from the contest, since I enter far too many insects. I thought it was time to branch out!)

Just back tracked for another look at your buckeye....I like the coming in for a landing flatness of its wings...being so different than you normally see wings set at but the beauty berries (In my opinion) does seem a better submission.
I don't think those birds could have stood any higher. What a comical looking pair!
