Isn't it comforting to know that when you are about to become a bear's breakfast your co-worker is standing there taking photos?

While I'm safely propped up in my computer chair, I felt myself leaning around the vehicles, wanting to get a door open and inside!
I'm going to presume the humans outsmarted the curious/hungry bear, got their surveying done, and got to eat supper, instead of being eaten...

Aw. Couldn't we spare a few surveyors. That bear looks soooo hungry!

I am guessing that the humans escaped. I would like to know how the photographer managed to get these shots without being threatened by the bear. Perhaps a telephoto lens?
