As of press time, there has been no state or federal money received for the water chestnut clean up that took place this summer.
The weed produces a thorny four-pointed nutlett in the early summer and each nutlett reproduces 100-plus seeds.
The county spent $45,000 to clean the chestnuts this summer and expected the funds to be returned from the state or federal government...
