HA HA I didn't even realize this thread was so old! Bitternuts have very small and bitter tasting nuts but I believe they are still eaten by squirrels and such but are the least desirable of the hickories. Thats the way I remembered the latin name for my dendrology classes cordiformis is only good for cord wood.

This is what I found in my search: http://www.wildlifegardeners.org/for...post92436.html it looks like I hijacked that thread instead of starting a new one. There are several posted pictures of the tree and my sketches of what I have in mind for it. At first I thought we should start a new thread specifically about my project, but it looks like I posted everything about it there already.

Thanks Dapjwy....No wonder I couldn't find it cruising under your name. It was hidden within a thread Teresa had created!
I figured If I asked in another tree related thread created by you it would eventually get us there.... I'll get around to adding the photos at a later time-date...I've already taken up too much of hubbies off time from us browsing this morning.

Recurve It's ok to jump into ANY thread no matter how old. It revives them for the new comers and sometimes even gives better results than the first time around...I'm glad you join into the conversation like you do. So many just read and move on....Thank you

I found it by searching the word "chainsaw" cuz I knew that I must've mentioned it somewhere in the thread. I didn't realize it was hidden in another thread either...but luckily I found it.

Yes, it is nice to revive old threads for newer members...and sometimes for those of us who've been here a while too. Adding relevant comments to any thread is appreciated as it keeps the conversation going.
