Well, the little clintonia seedling that I referred to in last year's post never sprouted back up again this year. However, about a half-dozen more seedlings (from the batch of seeds I'd collected in 2018) have germinated in the little plastic container which I'd left outside all year. I've transplanted each of them into its own little container, filled with loam, and I'm keeping them in a spot under the old Siberian elm tree, in mostly shade, but some light morning sun. So far, we've had a cool, rainy Spring, which may have helped them. I know that I really don't have proper growing conditions in what I call a backyard (actually just a strip of ground alongside the driveway), but I love the plant, so I'll just wait and see what happens. Although I've tried to grow clintonia several times before from seed, without any success, this is the best germination I've ever had from a batch of seed. I collected the seed in late Summer 2018 from a summer cottage that a friend has in the Berkshires.
