Not too far, as it it is just about dead center in the state - see Holly River State Park
The only real drawback is that most of the roads in that area are narrow, gnarly, and not always terribly well-marked. The day aftrer that photo was taken, I got fairly well confusigated when I departed for home...

Are you familiar with the area we had talked about going to?

Probably - Can you point me back to that thread? It's been some time since it was active.

Here are a few from the Rockies and West...
Skookum Falls near Mount Rainier.
Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge.
Yellowstone Falls.
An unnamed cascade somewhere on the southeast side of Mount Rainier.

This weekend I hope to be doing some more photography in the Gorge - if this crud leaves my upper chest.

O.K. - I found it. I'm quite familiar with the Cranberry Glades area, but not Canaan Valley/Blackwater Falls - that's an area of the state we seldom get to, so a visit there would be a treat for me, too!

Very nice! I also have some photos of Yellowstone Falls that I like, but they were taken in the pre-digital days, and I've never gotten around to scanning them...
