Yesterday I got my extractor in from the man in brown, so today I robbed my hives...each one only had 1 frame ready to extract...really it was more like 1.5 frames was ready but shhh...don't tell anyone that I extracted one a bit early.
![]() There will be more in a week or two, I'm sure. The one in the Sun has pollen from the frames added to it...I like the nutritional effects of pollen and it gives the honey a robust, strong, flowery taste...much more like Pressed honey you'd find in non-commercial old-world operations. |

Congratulations on your first harvest. Harvesting your own food and resources always brings such a sense of accomplishment. As I'm sure you know

Yay! Congratulations on the first harvest. It looks like you have happy bees, which make for happy beekeepers.

All of that from ONE frame?
Aren't the frames only like 2 feet square? I enjoy the flavor of pollen and have and order due to pick up from a local dealer.

Thanks y'all! I'm very pleased...it's so tasty, it's craZy.
I got 8.5, 12oz, jars from 2 medium frames. It should be about 1 quart per frame as a rule of thumb. |
