All I can say for sure about these two pics is that they were taken in late August and were taken in Massachusetts. I don't even know if those strings of things are flowers or berries (although the file names should indicate my first impression). I'm going to stop organizing my folders now so I won't be stumped anymore tonight and can stop dropping posers in this thread.

Was the area pretty moist? Could be Ditch Stonecrop (Penthorum sedoides):

That looks like a distinct possibility. The second pic shows the area to be wet. If I remember tomorrow, I'll dig a little deeper and try to confirm. For now, though, it's bed. Thank you cirsium and goodnight.
