Default Sedge seed head

I thought this was quite interesting looking. I'm terrible at IDing grasses and sedges but this one is in the field and there looks to be quite a bit of it. I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is.

Gosh it looks so familiar, but they always seem to look familiar to me. I'll see if I can find some info on the sedge I THINK it looks like.

I thought it might be Carex grayi, which would be native to the eastern half of the country, but on second thought there is only the slightest resemblance.

I think it is wild garlic or something similar.

Crush it, and it should give it a whiff...that should give you your answer fast.
