What exactly does the Friends thing in the Personal Profile do?
I've added 2 members to my Friends list but don't see it doing any thing.:huh

havalotta 10-25-2009 01:57 PM

Just shows who your friends are.
I see Gnome and prairie in yours when I open it up.

Friends are generally members that-
you know in real life
you referred to Wildlife Gardeners
you interact with in threads on a regular basis

Friends feature is also a means by which members working together on a project can connect easier. This happens to be why we activated the friends feature.

milkweed 10-25-2009 02:08 PM

Well Havalotta, I'm jealous you have more friends than I do!:cry

milkweed 10-25-2009 02:10 PM

Fearless how can they contact each other easier?

Fearless Weeder 10-25-2009 02:16 PM

Through the creation of a social group that we bring into existence for a special project. For example swamp thing and kzoot are working together to develop our WG Plants Database.

WG is too new to have many special projects.

We have many members that have no friends appearing in their lists. While some members welcome the feature, others don't.

Oohh. Thanks

WG is too new to have many special projects.
Don't feel insecure. We love WG just the way it is.:bouquet
Now to round up some more friends. LOL

Is there a way to "tag" some one so that you know when they've posted?
For example,
I get a kick out of Havalotta and I want find posts where she's put her two-cent in.

Hedgerowe 10-25-2009 02:40 PM

You can always go to a member's profile page, click on the "Statistics" tab, click that you want to see what posts they have made, and the most recent ones will be at the top of the list.

havalotta 10-25-2009 04:25 PM

So you want to play tag with me ha? Here I am.

Seriously though to see what someone else has posted just click onto their avatar (photo under their name)
and it will bring you into their home (profile) page.

Like Hedgerowe stated, click onto their statistics and you can choose to see all posts they have made or all the threads they have started.
You can also look up in the top of that area to see where they currently are (unless they forgot to sign out and are eating or something)
or where their last activity was ......

Another benefit of having friends is when you look on the home page under online users you will sometimes see members with a little plus mark.
That tells you YOUR friends are currently in the sight somewhere.

You can also find someone by clicking onto the members area on the top bar and locate them through that area the same way.

To gain more friends just ask. They will either accept you :)or choose to ignore you....:ohdear
