Default No RSS?

These forums have no feeds, am I correct on that? Was going to twitterfeed a couple of them but alas, looks like I can not.

You are correct.

Wildlife Gardeners is a new site. We work hard to add features and functionality as resources allow. Currently we are working on our new WG Plants Database. RSS feeds have been discussed and approved for our second year. We would like to have them however we must make it through our first year. We've learned the hard way that too much change too fast to a new site creates instability.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Ah, I was wondering if it was a scraper issue. It was a curiosity to me. Rather the lazy persons way of spreading the word. I wasn't sure if vBulletin came with rss but am not up forum software at all.

A scrapper site is a blackhat method of creating site with absolutely no original content. They pull in rss feeds, bot scrape, etc, from other original sites then throw the mish-mash through software to build a combined content new site. Takes seconds to do and is completely automated. Cron jobs or some other no maintenance system is installed to keep pulling in fresh content from other original sites.

RSS is particularly vulnerable to scrapping so some admins opt not to use rss so content is not stolen as easily. I just never use much content in a feed. Little content is of no use to a blackhat site, or at least not going to get jammed in Googles duplicate content filter.

see this for a very basic explanation. Scraper site - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The very basic explanation was enough to tell me they will never be stoppable. I see those sites and leave. It's too hard digging through hundreds of links to fine much of anything meaningful. Thanks Random.

I wouldn't worry about it. People drive themselves nuts worrying over stuff like that. Like you say, you can't stop it and those sites get banned eventually anyway.
