Havalotta, you are one of the really creative people here. Why not try your hand at a design yourself?

Perhaps later.
Have chores to do.

Copyright law is sort of complicated (I used to do copyright research and licensing for a living). You did not know; anyone that knows you will know that you acted in complete innocence. The best rule of thumb is to ask permission, then you will always know if it is okay or not.

My apologies. The images presented did not bear a copyright logo nor was it implicit it that they were protected. I would not endorse infringing on others intellectual property. In fact, part of my day to day job is defending my company's IP.

With sincerest apologies,

Quietman

We're going to have to start from scratch.

We'd like to use the tree of life concept in our up and coming WG Plants Database.

The world as a nest egg concept would be what we would like to use for our new feature articles area.

No harm done anyone. We have discussion forums so we can discuss these issues.

Sounds like they are using the tree of life so we aren't needed after all.
That was easy. I liked that one better than the nest.

We'll have a need for two.

Those were suggestions. Any graphics that would be readily recognizable while providing a guest with a feel for the area would be fine.

No worries Quiet! Copyright law is complex. Even professionals who rely on its protection rarely know the extent of it.

The very short version: any created work is protected under copyright law from the moment it is created, and can only be reused with the creator's permission. It doesn't matter if it has a circle-c symbol on it or not.
