Detroit has a ton of sad, empty lots, and this organization seeks to use them to unite communities through agriculture. It's a really wonderful looking program.

Sadly, their e-mail inbox always seems to be full. I have tried and failed to contact them about making donations twice.

Yet another great find! Excerpt from The Michigan Citizen.
The organization’s mission is to eradicate hunger while utilizing the wealth of unused land and volunteer spirit found in cities struggling with post-industrial economies. Their efforts are part of a wider initiative sprouting up across the country trying to fill the gap left by a struggling war economy.
