The other day, the snow was the perfect consistency to make a snowman. Without a real plan, my snow "sculpture" became this odd creation--a very chunky T-rex. Had I had the forethought--and some kind of structural support--I'd have made a more streamlined creature with a more realistic pose.
Anyway, originally, I considered having him offering birdseed from his puny forearms--but, in the end, the most realistic place to put the seed was within his gaping mouth. So, this is what I spotted this morning. ![]() ![]() ![]() and a full view of my T-rex...that, unfortunately, resembles Barney a little too much... ![]()

I got a good chuckle out of your photos.
Creative idea to put some bird seed inside of T. barney's mouth!

I think your sculpture is beautifully scary and not Barney-ish at all! The birds apparently disagree about the scary part, though.

Ha! Nice.
I used snow as a feeder in another way yesterday. We had a northern flying squirrel get into the apartment and our indoor cat killed it. I took the body out to a big pile of snow where the plow dumps it and put it up on top. It's too early for vultures, but the crows got it.

As it melted, it got kind of scarier looking. I was thrilled that I got a shot of the blue jays braving its jaws. I don't think they viewed it as anything but a feeder.

![]() ...I'm sorry about the squirrel. I'm glad his body was put to good use...feeding other creatures. I'm thinking that I saw a vulture or two last week. I'm not really sure of how/where they spend their winters.
