I don't have to go far to see pileated woodpeckers. They call here each day and bring the young ones too.

I usually have a family each year. Fun to watch. If you still still outside they usually don't mind. The young make all kinds of cool sounds when they are begging for food.

I see a few every year on my property but they do not nest. I think if I hung suet balls as hava suggests I would just get fatter squirrels!

I do have nesting red bellied and downy woodpeckers, though no nice pictures to show.
