Looks like an old-fashioned shoe tree to me.


Now, why would anyone do that!?

You got it! These four trees are in an Amish community, so maybe it's some kind of ritual or else just pranks! We first saw them a few years ago.

Way cool photos!!! There was a tree here somebody posted that had shoes in it a while ago. It was pretty funny. I'm sure it's kids doing it.... probably some fun loving adults too. If I was driving by and had a pair of ratty shoes.... I'd probably toss em up. Seems like good clean fun to me.... much better than kids blowing up somebody's mail box or sticking poop in a bag on somebody's front porch then lighting it on fire and ringing a doorbell.
