Default Fox kits

Last summer I had the pleasure to watch a vixen raise her five kits in a highly visible location here in Jackson, WY. These are some of her kids playing as they grew up...

Default Rabbit and

I took this picture last spring at sunset of a female rabbit nursing her young. Note some are lying on their backs. When the mother arrived little rabbits appeared out of now were to nurse. I was able to approach her with in six feet.

I was out in my greenhouse potting plants moving things around. There was a field mouse nursing her young in my LFS. I did not know she was there or I would have left her alone. She tried to get away from me and the babies were still suckling. Poor thing. I relocated her and all of her babies into a safe area under an overturned planter that I lined with shredded paper towels and peat. When I picked her up by the tail all the babies hung on nursing. I had to cradle them in my hand. Didn't want them to drop off and hit the ground. She must have liked her new abode. She stayed there. Good bunny photo. Made me remember the field mouse.

BABIES! Oh, I'm such a sucker for babies now! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful photos!

Here's the fawn that visited our backyard this year - and that snuck up on me once while weeding! And also, I can't resist! Myself and Gabe, photo taken by my hubby, who turns out to have quite the eye for a good composition!
