Thanks, I needed a good sparkling morning story! Gabe started his morning today at four-stinkin'-thirty, grumble grumble.

They don't have to compete with all the cheery, bouncy spring flowers for attention in the fall. They can be dignified and still get noticed.

Swamp thing, I should try and find an answer in a book, but I'm thinking they are growing new pitchers to gather more nutrients before going into dormancy.
Now would be a great time for anyone scientifically minded to share their knowledge with us... I would love to hear from others!Four thirty in the morning! Stolon, I hope your able to nap with him. ![]() Dignified, never thought of them that way, but they are dignified looking aren't they biigblueyes? |

NEBogger-
I'm catching up on posts....holy cow those plants have grown! When I opened your photo of this plant my jaw just dropped. It's one of the most beautiful plants I have ever seen! And your plant that looks like it has teeth made me giggle. ![]() What kind of plant is it? I'm not familiar with bog gardening at all; I'm just here admiring your talents. Your bog plant photos are certainly an inspiration to anyone thinking about starting a bog garden! BooBooBearBecky |

![]() Hi Boo, how did you make a link saying 'this plant' and have it bring up a pix? The pix in the first link is S. lenco x flava x ?. The leaves start out flat, then fill out before the open up. There's one in the middle of this pix. The second link wasn't as direct. But I'm sure you're talking about the venus fly trap. They're so cool ![]() The first of these pix, is a fly trap with a fly skeleton, the second one I tried to take out, unsuccessfully, the next three are from last year, showing how full they become with bugs. The pitchers were much larger this year, and just as full. The season has ended, they're getting tucked away for another winter. ![]() ![]() ![]()
