They're all important but turtles hit me harder for some reason.

What an important story, all the more because Darwin studied them and created his evolution of the species theory. That wizened old face tells a story. Too bad he didn't live to a ripe old age of 200 and that he didn't have a female or two of his subspecies to mate with.

Very sad. Thanks for sharing.

I have observed many turtles killed on the roads here in south Jersey. It makes me very sad and upset with humans.

It makes me sad that we're losing wildlife for reasons that we could curtail but seem to find it more "profitable" to exploit the natural resources.
One small thing everyone can feel good about is buying the tiger stamps at your post office, They cost a few cents more but the money made will go to helping save jungle habitat.
If humans stay on the hamster wheel of more, more, more, the day will come where all the animals you used to see in old Tarzan Movies will only be viewed in zoos.
