This just in: After 15 years of deliberation, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has yet to decide whether it will approve a genetically modified salmon for human consumption.

Now there's a catchy lead. But the truth is, the long-running regulatory saga of AquaBounty's application to sell salmon with a growth hormone gene from one fish plus a promoter of an antifreeze gene from another ó which help it grow twice as fast as typical farmed salmon ó does not seem headed toward a conclusion.

You might ask why. After all...

Linger? I would say they continue to swamp the issue. Any GMO fish is a disaster waiting to happen. Once released into the wild, it is a done deal, irrevocable and irresponsible; indeed, a benchmark for the insanity reigning in this nation that cares more about profit than the health of its citizens and the normal evolution of species on the planet.

I'd title the article: Safety Concerns One of Many Horrific Scenario's GMO Salmon are Immersed In."

Oh... my guess is they'll teeter totter back and forth just long enough to find a way to get around that teeny tiny little obstacle of there being no provision in our existing laws for the approval of genetically engineered animals and then while we're sleeping... AquaBounty's app will somehow someway miraculously get approved as a "new and innovative" animal drug because ya know... there's "a reasonable certainty of no harm" and they wouldn't want to waste all our tax payer dollars they gave em to develop GM Salmon or that last 1/2M in our tax payer dollar they gave em to "promote" a product that would be "cultured" here then "grown out" in Panama. That jack... is how yesterday's tinfoil becomes tomorrow's news. Maybe.... just maybe.... if they started doling out our tax payer dollars to nationalists instead of globalists.... we wouldn't be in such a fine fix because we'd be giving the $$$ to folk with a vested interest beyond that of global stakeholders as in.... their own children.

Exposed: Genetically-modified salmon found to be contaminated with infectious salmon anemia
excerpt from above:
Quote:
"I think we have to ask the question, 'How did this get into this facility?' This is a land-based, closed-tank system that's raising these genetically-engineered fish," said Stewart. "It could only have come through the eggs or the smolts, or through water that the facility pumps from the bay into their facility."

AquaBounty is the same company, of course, that has been trying to ramrod US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its highly-allergenic AquAdvantage Frankenfish without so much as a shred of independent, legitimate scientific evidence proving that the imitation fish is safe for humans and the environment, or that it will not reproduce and destroy stocks of wild salmon all over the world...

Exposed: Federal funding for GMO salmon?
excerpt from above:

Why are our tax dollars going to subsidize the creation of Frankenfish? Itís bad enough the government has totally failed to do any kind of regulation for genetically modified organisms (GMOs), including blocking attempts to at least mandate labeling for these artificial and barely-tested foods...
