Had to buy a can of paint on Monday. Was very surprised when I found out the can was plastic.

The increasing use of plastic is partially driven (pun intended) by us trying to use less energy. Plastics are lighter compared to metal and glass. Trying to help the environment can hurt the environment. Same goes for biodiesel, ethanol, and electric/hybrid cars. Help on one hand and cause problems on the other. I just recently learned about all the cobalt mining that is happening because of electric cars.
