Talk about messing with someone who was ONLY trying to help out, Pennsylvania Union Leader Criticized for Threatening Legal Action Over Boy Scout's Volunteerism - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com. "Nick Balzano, president of the Service Employees International Union's Allentown chapter, said last week that the union might file a grievance against the city for allowing 17-year-old Kevin Anderson to clear the hiking trail, instead of paying some of the 39 recently laid-off SEIU members to do the work." Good for the Mayor of Allentown for asking for an apology to the youth and to the public.

On the up side - now the world knows about Kevin's wonderful community service project. And the idiot at the union. . .well, the whole world knows he's an idiot.

Perhaps a win-win could have been made out of this situation.

Kevin could have educated and supervised the SEIU workers while they all cleared the path. The workers would have been paid, Kevin would have gotten his merit badge and valuable experience in supervising, etc.

It never does any good to hunt moths with bazookas.
