Pileated feeds young on deck.

I don't have to go far to see pileated woodpeckers. They call here each day and bring the young ones too.

I do think that I am very lucky with the birds, I feed a couple of others and can get within 2 feet of the pileated woodpeckers that I feed each day and the downies. The flickers come to the feeders...

This month, on the 16 and the 17th, I had 19 species on the deck. Always have around 12 or more. I feed 3 or 4 though an open window, this is Bewick's wren.

Annsa's hummingbirds.

They stay the year round and with the leaves gone, they are a little easier to photograph. Amazing how the colors change as they move about.

We had a tree come down over the deck on Sat, then a sapsucker arrived. You can see by the position of the holes, up and down not across that the tree is down.

Walk along the lagoon.

Still a lot of the birds here, the killdeers have returned. Thought it was time for another couple of pictures. A double crested cormorant, and a killdeer.

Great to see that things are growing, enjoyed seeing what people have. There is lots of stuff flowering up here including these, pasque flower, cowslip, trillium and red flowering currant.
