Beautiful photos this month, as always! Rebek, you must have gotten down really low to the ground to take that mayapple flower shot.
Thanks to everyone who liked my bullfrog eats toad from last month - I didn't even check to see if I had won until today and saw I got a second place in amongst a bunch of jpdenk's gorgeous photos. A couple more on the froggy theme today, and then on to our flying friends. My pond and stream are bursting with frogs and toads. Some are actually deigning to pose for me these days. ![]() ![]() The bumbles have been out in force. I had a carpenter bee defending this azalea all week, waiting for the blossoms to open, then he/she got chased off by the bumblebees. ![]() Lastly, on our non-native, unloved cornflower, a spring azure looking color coordinated. ![]()

Turttle, I particularly like the cornflower/butterfly photo. I confess that the LSS held the mayapple foliage out of the way so that I could photograph the blossom without lying down on damp ground. But no mayapples were harmed in the taking of the photograph.

I really like that one! I'll have to try it out on my LSS.

It's not just a droplet. There's a really nice play of action flowing about the surface. It's hairiness also reminds me of something kind of scientific.
It just hit me..... A paramecium.... The leaf has, cilia like hairs. COOL. ![]()
