~~~November 2011 photo contest is now open! Photos must be taken in November and the limit is four.
This month, landscapes change dramatically from the soft or brilliant autumn hues, to a more monochromatic winter look in much of the country. Many trees are now bare, looking darker, and the bushes also will lose their leaves as the last of the color goes into hiding til next spring. Garden plots look markedly different. You may have one of those picture-postcard snowfalls or you may have to get more creative. We saw a pheasant today but it went into hiding quickly! How else can you say "November"? (Cropping or minor tweaking is okay.) |
I'm glad I live in the South! No snow in November for us. I still have most of my leaves, and there are still skippers and bumblebees visiting my flowers (which are admittedly fewer than last month, but I still have a bunch).
So, are you only looking for wintery looking photos?
A BLAST from the past!
The very first mention of a Wildlife gardeners Photo Contest. There are no longer the encouraging prizes (unless donated) BUT..... ![]() There WILL be (a soon to be created) thread called. "THE WALL OF FAME!" This new thread will "Showcase" the "Best of the Best" of each and every photo contest W.G. has ever thrown! There are but a few days left to enter before a winner is chosen filling the rightful position for all to view in, "THE WALL OF FAME" Will it be YOURS?
A short month on photos, still time though! Love your sunrise benj1!
One to submit, just because we have had so much rain this month and the cold temps have just begun, it was not a cloudy or rainy day today which is rare so I went out to find this blooming on a stump. |
I agree benj1's sunrise is amazing--great colors. Your fungi look so FRESH. Nice addition. I've none to add...and if I remember 30 days hath September, April, May, and November...so I think I'm out of time. ![]()
