~~~September 2011 photo contest is now open! Photos must be taken in September (any year) and the limit is four.
This is a month where weather changes, tinges of autumn appear, colors change more dramatically and seed heads all make for challenging photo opportunities. Cropping or minor tweaking is okay. |

My entries are Amaranthus pumilus (Seabeach Amaranth), Caulophyllum thalictroides (Blue Cohosh), Gentiana catesbaei (Elliot's Gentian), Nelumbo lutea (American Lotus).

Excellent photos, one and all, silverclaw. I'm not familar with the first two.
Four photos already! (Most people hold back a little in case they end up taking a great photo later in the month. ...Not sure about the rules, but I guess if one had to, an earlier photo could be replaced with the newest one.) Anyway, very nice. ![]()
