Very nice, turrtle!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() This is what I'm really there for, a Peregrine falcon nest in the old power plant on the Canadian side of the gorge. ![]() ![]() The two Peregrine eyasses are now about 4 weeks old, with the very young reluctant mama, Diamond, in front of her babies. The male is not banded but he has been nesting there since 2003. I've dubbed him, "Gorge's George". His previous mate disappeared which means she likely died, so there were no baby Peregrines in 2010. Now Diamond is his mate and he is teaching her how to nest. In about two weeks, the kids will be fledging into the gorge! |
As beautiful as your first photo is (in post 11), Sage, I think I like the second one best. It fills me with hope. Thanks.
When I arrived for a swim, a yellow jacket was already there drinking from it. He didn't appreciate my presence, and he left in a huff! I decided it was too small for me to swim in, though, so I took a picture and left.
With a title like "My Pond", I got all excited...especially since I started digging my pond again the other day. Your photo made me smile. Great addition to the thread.
Looks like the water takes up at least a third of the picture...I'd say you are okay, Bulu.
![]() P.S. I love blue herons. ![]()
Gorgeous pic, Bulu. I hope you add it to the monthly contest too!
Here's a way to tell if a pic fits the contest - ask what the main subject is. In this case, I think the Heron is the focus point. You were shooting the Heron. In the case of a dewdrop dripping off a leaf, the dewdrop is the focus. Btw, Bulu, your macros are getting so good, how about some dewy webs or raindrops catching the sun from a rose petal? ![]() |
She sure knows how give us a quick dunk stimulating the need to gasp-grasp the nature of things. ![]() Glad I noticed it was for THIS July and August as I had just pulled the waterfall photos (Last night as a matter of fact) I was intending upon sharing from LAST years romp in the Porcupines with Equill ... Guess I'll just have to go paddle around in the sea of photos from this years romp.... And romping for a FULL day with Equill I sure did! Near led to an episode of "I shouldn't be alive" but THAT adventure would only lead a person waaaaaaay........ ![]()
