Spectacular photos of some spectacular mushrooms, well done!

I'm very frustrated here, as July has been horribly hot and very dry up until the last three days when we received an absolute deluge. I'm hoping to see lots of mushrooms next weekend in the local woods when I lead a foray there for the Illinois Mycological Association. At least I hope the mushrooms will respond. There may be more rain here by Wednesday, so I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll have mushrooms to see.

July is typically when the mushrooms start getting serious here, but as of a week ago, I couldn't find a single mushroom to photograph in the local woods.

Thank you Jpdenk... Too bad the shrooms are lacking in your area. I have a feeling they'll be popping in anytime now especially after the deluge you just received. Would you by chance know the I.D.s on any of the mushrooms I've entered?

Oxeyed...The overhead of the water lily beckons me.

Your first one is a Bolete of some kind, but impossible to ID to species from your photo. Boletes can be very hard to ID to species, even with specimen in hand, without chemical tests. The second one looks to me to be Pig's Ears, Gomphus clavatus. Number three looks like Stereum ostrea, but again can't say for certain from just a photo. Number four is uncertain, could be a Mycena, maybe even some kind of Chanterelle, maybe something else entirely, just can't say from a photo. But it's sure pretty.

Thank you
It's always nice to learn their proper names. Much better than saying....Oh look there's a mushroom.
Those were the first pig ears I've ever ran into. Neat looking undersides up close.
I think #4 is way too small and not frilly enough to be in the chanterelle family so I guess I'll stick with calling it a Mycena.
I see the Stereum ostrea is also called the false turkey tail. I can see why.

I took another look at the little orange one, thought it could be a waterlogged Cantharellus cinnabarinus, but on second viewing, the edge of the cap doesn't look right, as you mentioned.

I photographed something a similar years ago, never did put a name on it for certain. Mycena leiana is a beautiful orange Mycena, grows in clumps on wood, but yours doesn't look quite right for that one.
