After doing a search they appear to be the flower beetle .

Looks like an unhappy pancake to me (why I do not know). My husband would definitely like this one as he is a gun nut (this is Texas, after all, sigh) and has a t-shirt that reads, "I have issues". Thank goodness he is really a teddy bear! More importantly, he likes our critters.
