Thanks all, it's really nice to have one's stuff appreciated. Especially when two different folk single out different photos as remarkable.
dapjwy, I am always happy to find a nest and, of course, I find many more during the winter. Something about the tripod effect of the three stalks on this one along with it's low position endeared it to me.
And hava, you've articulated well what I liked about the shroom pic. I didn't know why I liked it but I knew I was very happy with how it turned out.
I may be snowshoeing this weekend and if so, I should have some new material. Some of it may be worth sharing. We'll see.

White Ibis
January 2011 Photo of the Month Contest - post entries here-dscf4171-white-ibis.jpg
Feed in the water by sweeping their long, downward curved bill from side to side.
On land, their bills are used to probe into the soil for food.

Well, my computer is over its virus and I am back online. I am working on bird photos this month, just on my property with my feeders. Here are two of my year round residents. The chickadee is taken with a telephoto from high up in a tree on a very cold, windy day; the titmouse just at my feeder.

Beautiful bird shots, Turttle! Two of my favorite birdies!

I love this shot, not just of the ibis, but of the mangrove roots! These are most amazing trees!

The second is a fungus I found. I was surprised to see one this late that wasn't a shelf fungus. Of course, my knowledge of fungi is quite limited even though I've taken many, many pictures of them over the years. Though I don't know the name of this one, I do know that I like how the composition turned out so I thought I'd share it with y'all.

Bulu,
Nice photos! I always smile when I find a little nest such as this one.

Another visit to Sanibel's Ding Darling~ I think we should have a WG meet-up here next winter, but if any of you can still get here this winter, we'd love to meet up with you!

Here's an enticement - a Great Egret~ Also in the shot was a Snowy Egret which I cropped out. It will be the subject of its own shot!
