Havalotta, I like the first shot particularly, the golden yellow leaves look really nice.

jpdenk,
The geese photo you took is worthy of framing. So beautiful and serene with the reflection of the geese in the water.

Havalotta-
Beautiful fall photos!
Can you tell me what plant this is in your second photo?
Pretty Flowers

Thanks John.... I backed myself in under a cedar tree to give it a bit of a natural framework.

With my website up, I have time to look at my photos, do some cropping, and post a few. It's still not looking very autumnal here, though, so I'm not going to try to compete with amazing colors and pumpkin soup.

The first is an ecosystem most of you probably haven't seen, a pine sand savannah at Carolina Beach State Park

Next, we have a friend who startled me when I was trying to fill my bird feeder, who luckily didn't become bird food himself.

Speaking of insects getting eaten, fall is a beautiful time in the carnivorous plant section of the NC Botanical garden.

Suunto named this wasp for me, and I don't have the name in front of me, but I like how her legs are splayed out on the flower stalks, trying to get her head into just the right spot.

Finally, we have Shelob, which isn't great from a photographic standpoint, but is cool none-the-less. She still resides in her flower pot, with her web extending about six inches out into the grass where I put her, luring the unsuspecting Hobbits to their doom...

Oooops, Ohhh How FUNNY! Well you know what I meant.
I was able to go back and correct my spelling error..Thanks Turtle

Now a tip from me to you.....
You might want to remove one of your photos while you can so Dave knows which ones to judge you on....
P.O.M. contest rules state, we are allowed 4 photo entries per month .... Don't want to see you disqualified by putting too many in good buddy.
By the way....I LOVE the looks of that last one...

I did know what you meant. I was just giving you a hard time.

I thought we got five entries. Sigh. I don't keep track of these things very well. Which one do you think I should withdraw? I think Shelob is photographically the worst, but it is a cool shot, she looks really evil, doesn't she? It is hard to tell she is only an inch-inch and a half big. If you're arachnophobic, don't visit my house.

I feel outclassed this month by a bunch of other photos anyway, so I'm not worried about being judged.
