The kids taught me how to change that file name. What I want to know is how folk can read it on my photos that I post when I can't? "Are we going to end up in a wrestling match over MrILoveTheAnts' jar of honey?" Yup.... I'm trying to figure out what my 4th photo is going to be while cursing. I don't know which one to pick. It might be time to send my two picks to my "panel" and let them pick for me. Still waiting for you to sic your bears on me.

E-
You need to use windows explorer to rename the files.

It appears that your kids taught you how to rename a file in whatever photo viewing program you're using, but it isn't really renaming the underlying FILE name.

I right click on the photo after I drag it then I get a drop down box that has choices. I click rename and get a little box where I type what I want before the dot and the letters jpg. I'm lost on how folk can read my private title when I can't but.... that's ok. I've been lost before.

It's just like she says.... Hover over a photo IN A POST and you will see whatever info there is come into view. You do NOT click ONTO it.
By the way.... Great bee shot!

I read it by hovering over it like described above...but also, if you click on the small photo, it enlarges and the file name is at the bottom of the photo, too.

All of the above, and yet a third way to see the filename: if you click through to the enlarged photo, the URL in the address bar of your browser will show the filename.

BTW, is that a carpenter bee on the swamp milkweed in your last photo, Lib? Been seeing a lot of those lately. They really flock to the obedient plant.

You're lucky to have a panel to fall back upon... I whittle my choices down to the best 6 and often want to ask....
What do you want to see? Insect, animal, plant, or bird life... But never have.

To determine your best.... Try asking yourself.... Which one would you'd rather have hanging on your wall.
That usually does it for me unless I'm adding something natural but rather odd like peeing deer, carcasses and such....

There's a smiley for every purpose, even beer drinking! Y'all can come party at my house if any of you're ever in NC, too, equally out of the way with N. Wisconsin, but you never know.

Havalotta, of course I have NOT read the rules. That's like reading manuals, something discouraged in my house. I guess I should, duh?
