I think your Sandpiper has stunning legs. I spend far more time taking pictures of birds then Opossums, I never thought that the little guy would draw so much attention. Thank you all. Sandpipers are harder to find and photograph. Kudos for sitting in the rain!

Thanks Birdmandea... Well he is awfully awfully cute!
This is the first time I've actually taken a photo of a sandpiper.....I was able to sneak in pretty close.
Maybe it was distracted by the rain playing out in front if it?

Here's one of my Blue-Eyed grass shots from yesterday. I'm pretty sure it's Sisyrinchium albidum, but I'm not sure. The darker shade of blue threw me off initially, but I found that they can be a deeper shade of blue. They were photographed in the St. Mihiel Preserve in the SW 'burbs of Chicago, part of the Cook County Forest Preserve District.

I couldn't decide which of these was the better one so they're both in the mix. This was on the banks of the Squannacook River in Townsend, MA. A very lazy river as you can see by the undisturbed reflection in the second photo.

Cute, adorable critters! Was this in a zoo or nearby?
