I have done a lot of animal rescues and rehab. At the clinic I used to feed the babies. I have seen A LOT of baby opossums, but never one that looked THAT cute! Great shot!

I apologize for the slight, I was just mesmerized by the normally less-than-cute opossum.

That actually reminds me of a funny story...
I have my washer and dryer in my basement. I was getting ready to do some laundry and every time I put something in the washer, I heard this low growling sound...I looked in the washer tub and could not see anything so I thought it was my imagination. As I kept putting clothes in, I kept hearing it. When I stopped, it stopped. I put another article of clothing in but did not let go of it. When my hand went into the washer tub, there was a growl, when I took my hand out, the growling stopped...I was looking around for the laundry police to make sure I was not violating some laundry code. I finally caught some movement out of the corner of my eye. There was a baby opossum that had crawled up between the tub and lid of the washer. How he got there is a mystery to me. Needless to say I did not get to do laundry that day and now I always make sure that the lid is closed when I am not using the washer.

Sorry, I don't have a funny story about a sandpiper...

So this Sandpiper walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Hey buddy, why the long face?" The Sandpiper looks startled and says, "Oh, sorry. I'm in the wrong joke!"

No need to apologize.... I just felt really, really, neglected, sitting here all by myself, on a rock, out in the rain, for days and days on end, not to mention the cold cold evenings, hungry and thirsty, dripping wet, waiting for a possum to stroll by, full of babies upon its back, big enough to tell what they were, in the daylight, close enough to get a shot of it, hopefully in focus, if the batteries hadn't died, and the camera hadn't shorted out from the rain, or had internal fogging messing things up, with a chip that still had room on it, that's all.....

Default the snake & the catfish

I was out in my canoe just taking in the view, this snake shot up out the water onto the bank with a catfish in its mouth. I was able to get onshore & snap a few pics.

Once in a lifetime thing,I'll never see that again.
