Lovely shots, Tim and Sage. And thanks, Sage, for the link to the Cornell site for the comparison between the two chickadees. I still miss my Black-capped chickadees from the North.

Default The Hawaiian monk seal, Monachus schauinslandi

You have no idea what it took me to get these photos. We're talking days and days and days. Their numbers are down to the point they weren't even lounging on remote beaches hardly at all like they were 10 years ago. I think there's like only 150 of them left and some 78 year old man shot a mature adult and WALKED with like only a $25 fine. There's something REALLY wrong with that scenario. Tell me that face isn't totally kissable!!! I was 20' away when I took the photos... and he was soaking up the rays sleeping. It's a kissable mug but... that's a wild animal.
