Big round of applause to David Stiles for managing this contest month in and month out. Thank you.

It's amazing that the coneflower at the Chattahoochee Nature Center was still alive, though fading.

The red-bellied woodpecker flies in like a kamikaze pilot, scattering all the other birds at the tray feeder in front of my home office window.

The red-tailed hawk is a captive at the nature center. It had been hit by a car and has an injured wing and thus cannot be released, so it is used for educational purposes.

Brrrrr! I'm so glad I don't have to deal with many icicles down here in metro Atlanta. Not to say it does get to be freezing or that there aren't ice storms, but those fortunately aren't common. The downside is that I don't get a chance to take a great icicle shot like havalotta's.

Yikes! December is half over and I haven't joined in yet

So busy just viewing all these wonderful entries and havalotta, love those icicles. Take lots more and start a thread!

I haven't been getting much photography in so far this month but here are a couple

Here's another that spells December around here. This is where the white Red-tailed Hawk lives in Cambria NY but we couldn't find her Friday.
