Wiregrass is Ventenata dubia (Ventenata dubia - BugwoodWiki), also called hairgrass because it looks like, well, hair. It is erect.

Centipede grass is Eremochloa ophiuroides (Centipedegrass -and- Plant: 'Eremochloa Ophiuroides' | learn2grow.com). It grows close to the ground. I guess it and, say, Bermuda grass can be considered weeds because of their spreading habits, but neither is wiregrass.

(Ain't Google grand?)
