I think your beetle is a Locust Borer, Megacyllene robiniae:

I was stung so many times this month that when I first saw him I backed off. I noticed a patch of mint growing near him and had to pick a sprig to nibble on. That is when I noticed he was a wasp MIMIC. Luckily I had my camera and was able to take a few shots of him.

Maggy what is that, A dolphin? The Kingfisher is a beautifully different bird. I like watching how hard those hit the water when they spot a fish to feed on.

Yes it is. I was on my way back to my car and just happened to notice him. I was probably at the narrowest point of that channel.
