That location is around 10,000 feet above sea level, we were there and becoming somewhat concerned about the approaching storm as we were moving along a ridge and close to the highest point for a couple miles. We didnt want to get fried by lightning.

Scary!
Hit the ditch if your hair stands on end. I've had that happen to myself twice already. A WEIRD feeling.

OK, guess I'll throw some in. Here are some of my favorites that I've taken in the last month. One, the beetle, was cropped slightly, all have been sharpened after resizing down. I used Pixmantec RawShooter Premium 2006 to convert the NEF files to JPG, then all were optimized in Photoshop CS2.
The Honey mushrooms were shot using the camera's built-in flash softened with a Gary Fong Puffer, the others are natural light. I used a tripod for the 2 mushroom shots and my monopod was used on the beetle and flowers shots. Ringless Honey Mushrooms (Armillaria tabescens), a Pennsylvania Leatherwing Beetle (Chauliognathus pensylvanicus), Sulfur Shelf Mushrooms (Laetiporus sulphureus), and Wild Bergamot flowers (Monarda fistulosa). Both shots are beauties, but I really like the Skipper on the Liatris, really nice shot.
