Default Late June walk in the Tetons

What a week for wildlife in the Tetons!!! First I came across a Long-billed Curlew before a Pronghorn gazing across the valley caught my attention. I went further into the forest, only to find a Downy Woodpecker tending her chick in a nest above me! Not too much longer when I was coming back this little moose was blocking my path - and once I escaped his clutches I was stuck behind a small bison jam!

Not bad for a day's work ... next mission - find the River Otters with their kits.

The pronghorn is postcard perfect. The curlew is a bird I've never seen in person. I'd like to.

Incredible photos, Dave. Love the Curlew and the Moose especially, and what excellent luck to come across the Downy Woodpecker when you did--you shot at the perfect time.

That moose looks like he's ready to charge you! He's digging his hoof like a bull.
