This is Mo's spring cub, Maid Marion. Fathered by Robyn Hood last June.
Mo is a 4 1/2 year old female bear. This is Mo's first cub. Mo's mother is Goldlicks and Mo is 1 of 4 quadruplets Photo taken yesterday 7/12/09 just before dusk. Is that a chestnut oak or bigtooth aspen he's climbing? With the northern red oak in the background of pic#2 (large tree, rear-right) I would guess it's a chestnut oak.

It's a variety of oak, but I'm not sure which kind. We have several types of oak trees in our area, and I tend to just call them all Oaks. If you think it looks like a chestnut oak, it probably is. Thanks for identifying the northern red oak tree in the background too! BooBooBearBecky |
