Hi Katjh, love the pix of the seedlings...lots of fun right there, also your 'native clematis' totally awesome!

Hi Armelichier, 'new england crab apple pie', I'm glad ya shared that with us.

Hi maggienolia, nice clear shot of the eclipse!

I have a nice fuzzy shot of the eclipse, or is it really fuzzy???...or at least the way I was able to see it, it was too bright to put my sunglasses over the camera...so what the heck, I thought --thru the dappled shade-- heck ya & I'll post my pix for the POM...in the 'ya looked the wrong way yet again' category. hahahahaAugust Photos of the Month-img_20170821_132001.jpg

Default Cecropia moth caterpillar

Was moving caterpillars around yesterday and liked the way the sun lit up the tubercles on this one.

A little tree frog tad almost at maturity.

First time I've ever ran into that species at that stage in it's life. Usually find them as adults but never a breeding area. Believe it or not, it was found at a home where they neglected to keep up with their above ground pool. They had a cover draped over it but having sat so long it reverted back to the wild side. Not scummy but a bit....green with a small amount or leaf-tree debris that had entered through an opening in the drape.

They look so weird when they still have that tail! (The frog that is)

LoL. Now I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled for something like a rattlesnake coiled around a rattle...or an alligator snapping turtle on an alligator. I better stop now, my mind is already off and running.

hahaha.... so funny! thanks for sharing. Isn't dappled shade wonderful? Funny how the eclipse sort of washes out the normal colors of the ground.

Who knew there would be 2 entries in the 'ya looked the wrong way again' subcategory.
