Default Female Deer Tick

April 2009 Photo of the month thread - post contest images here-l_femaledeertick3.jpg
This little lady hitched a ride on Michelle and was looking for a nice place to take up residence. Instead she was discovered and became a model. For about five minutes before being permanently retired.

While waiting for something, anything, to hold still for me I took this photo of organically grown pecans. I know it won't win but the pecans posed very nicely for me.

Photo taken today 4/20/09, in my backyard.

Meet Mo....
  • Daughter of Goldilocks & Bearzilla
  • Quadruplet sibling of Enie, Meeny & Miney
  • Mating partner of Peter Pan and Robyn Hood (yes, a female bear can have multiple offspring by multiple males)
And surprise, suprise....Mo is a first time Mom of quadruplet cubs, yet to be named.

I want to pick one up and give it a great big squishy hug and bury my face into its warm fur. They have such tiny beedy blue eyes. Can I talk all that mushy baby talk now. Ohhhh you're soooooooooo cute, Yes you are .........Such little sweeties!
Is this how big Goldilocks cubs were when you found them? Did her little ones come to your home with out her or did you find them in the woods? Did they need bottle feeding or were they beyond that stage already?

Clueless, your tick is a winner. Really good detail.

BooBoo, I hope your keyboard survived. Did you see my geese? They stayed put long enough for me to take some photos.

havalotta, I feel sorry for you. I am so sorry to see so much Phragmites in your photo. What are you going to do about it? Is there anyone who can teach you how to begin managing it?
