And the winners are: wildwatcher is first with the turtle photo and turttle is second with the Rose Breasted Grosbeak photo. Look at that strong beak. Great job turttle and wildwatcher. ww I really like your tree photos also.

Thanks to all who submitted photos!

Nice pictures! Great to spot a grosbeak closeup like that at any time! and the turtle turns a picture of a fern and neighboring plant into a jungle scene with a towering forest enclosing a prehistoric reptile!

I'm so happy, tyty everyone for the compliments. I found that little turtle 'on the trail', and I knew EllenW would like it. Now I wish I had a pix of another turtle that I caught digging & nesting in the back yard...or those pesky deer eating all my watermelon patch sprouts...haha.

Congrats to turttle an all the others that submitted pixs for the POM.

Nice job WW and turttle! Wildwatcher, you are fortunate to have turtles right in your back yard. Sure wish I did (and frogs/toads, too!).
Lovely photo of the grosbeak, turttle. One of my favorite spring time visitors at the feeders :-)

Thanks, y'all. This is the first year we have had rose breasted grosbeaks and they were only there for a few days.

I find an occasional box turtle on my property. It is definitely turtle season, with multiple turtles crossing the roads around here, usually snappers and box turtles. A friend found a common musk turtle in a parking lot and it laid two eggs in the box she put it in to move it. It is amazing how much nature is all around us!

Egg laying is just about over with but they are still in travel.
Stopped and saved... Set one off to the side of the road we had noticed crossing it the other day.
