Come next year I should or hope to be seeing some sprouts. I just hope it wasn't too leafy this fall smothering them. I should have retained a few to play around with inside this Winter.

Oooo Ahhhhh Nice twigs.
Are you spray painting or hand painting them? I often think of how much spray paint's wasted spraying thin things like that and outdoor furniture but usually go that rought because it's quicker.

Hi havalotta, yes hand painted/dobbed with an old sock or a piece of sponge type brush...I wouldn't want to waste any of my 60 year old apple green oil paint.
I agree spray painting is at times wasteful, but certainly can leave a better finish, on these tough boughs, finish isn't so important as attempting to weatherproof them somewhat. The finish on those boughs may be the least of my worries tho...my wife Destiny caught me outside painting them and she had the 'look of horror' when I told her I would use them to decorate outside in the yard...so this project might not go very far. LOL Hi Ellen, sorry I couldn't get a snapshot of turkeys for this thread, they simply wouldn't show up for a snapshot until January...look for them over in Gloria's 'turkey thread'. ww
