Unfortunately, we are in a rural area, and lowest man on the totem pole for service. Google and ATT and putting in "Google fiber" all over the triangle area, with service hundreds of times faster than ours, but we can't even get normal cable service and never will unless our neighborhood kicks in several thousand dollars apiece to fund a line coming in from the nearest connection. New houses on our street actually get 1/4 the speed of our miserably slow DSL connection, and over time our service has gotten worse as more people try to go through the DSL junction several miles from here that hasn't been upgraded in over a decade.

I don't know how many other WGs this kind of thing effects, given we all like to live in relatively wild areas, but it drives me crazy! Sorry for the rant. I am just having a really slow time trying to visit threads tonight and this is the last for the evening. Sigh.

I'm not well versed in the schrooms or I'd give it a shot but to put an improper name to one would be misleading and prove be fatal should there be any diners in the crowd.

Georgia Asters which are flowering even now.

A Red Spotted Purple I goofed raising. Apparently in the third instar you're supposed to put them in the fridge and let them go into diapause (hibernation) until next year. Any warmth beyond that and they'll finish their life cycle this year without any plants to host on.

And lastly a little Hepatica seedling that germinated in my wildflower garden.

It's late, but not too late I hope (we get til the 5th right???). I love October. November has started out very fall-like, with fog and mist and rain bringing out the last vibrant colors of fall. Hopefully I'll get some good photos this month.

What an odd looking cat MrILove. You must stop by more often.
Did you ever get to starting that 2nd book we had talked about?

Nope not too late. I learned to wait until the 6th. Fall is beautiful isn't it?

I still have a few red spotted purple adults flying around my yard as of last week. It has been an unusually warm fall. I didn't know they usually overwintered as caterpillars. I hope the fact that I still have a bunch flying now doesn't mean I will have fewer next year because they didn't get to reproduce, though I do still have a lot of green leaves on my willow tree which is there favorite host in my yard.
