Beautiful, Hava! I hope my Mayapples will eventually do that well. I have just four this year. I'm quite sure I had a few more last year. Wonder if bunnies like them? They seem to eat just about anything else out there.

That colony is growing in one of the areas I like to frequent come Spring.
I was real happy to have won a batch of the Mayapples in a past Photo contest (from Wildone) to plant near for admiration.
Mine are now up but they aren't anywhere near, that big of a clump yet.

I've never seen a Mayfly. Cool picture and thanks for providing the link. Interesting. i was wondering how your newly planted Mayapples from Wildwatcher grew so much havalotta. It also took me awhile to figure out who Wildone was.

May flies are pretty fun little critters.
They hatch in large batches and fly about like little fairies along the river. You can can catch them easily from above by gently pinching their wings together. We often played and tickled each other with them as children. If you ever have the chance, Bring one to your cheek. It's tiny little feet dance and tickle like no other little critter can.

I noticed the matching tones laying side by side at my feet.

I have seen some great photos on WG lately. How about entering some of them in the May photo contest. You don't want havalotta to win first AND second place do you? No one else has posted any photos this month. Thanks!
